I write short fiction, poetry, lyrics, and plays.  For young audiences, my work includes the participation play Don't Sleep Under the Mapou Tree!, lyrics and scenario for the Looking Glass Theatre's production of Jonnycake/Gaspee, and lyrics and co-book for Theatreworks/USA's Sherlock Holmes and the Red-Headed League.  

For general audiences, I contributed lyrics to choral pieces, commercials, and the Off-Broadway musical revues Pets! and That's Life!, Outer Critics Circle Award nominee for Best Off-Broadway musical.  My genre fiction and poetry is in Twisted Cat Tales,  Aoife's KissScherehezade's Bequest, Shelter of Daylight, Star*Line, and others,.
I was an Associate Editor for the anthology series Sybil's Garage.  

I'm a graduate of Clarion West, one of the founders of the New York City writing group Altered Fluid, and a member  of the Writers Support Group at Tutu's House on Hawaii's Big Island.

Great news!  My short story "The Steady Man" won second prize  in the Fred Otto competition for Oz Fiction.  The prize was awarded at the 2013 Winkie Con in Pacific Grove, CA.  The Fred Otto prize is part of the Winkie Reseach Table, also presenting the Warren Hollister Prize for Oz Non-Fiction and Rob Roy MacVeigh Prize for Oz Artwork. 

In more Oz news, I review  Oz Reimagined: New Tales from the Emerald City and Beyond in the premiere issue of Conjurings magazine.  Conjurings, edited by Bartholomew Klick, is a White Cat Publications imprint.

My short poem "Closure" was among the winners of  the Science Fiction Poetry Association's  2012 Dwarf Stars competition.  The poem placed second, following Marge Simon's  top work "Blue Rose Buddha."  G.O. Clark took third with "Snowflake galaxies."   The award recognizes speculative micropoems  of ten lines or less.  The winners, along with all nominated poems, are in the 2012 Dwarf Stars anthology.   For more information see
